The 麻豆区 Curriculum
General Education requirements at 麻豆区 are called the 麻豆区 Curriculum (LC). The LC consists of the following:
- Inquiry Seminar (INQS)
- Modes of Inquiry (MOIs)
- Creative Studies (CS)
- Individuals, Systems, and Societies (IS)
- Natural World (NW)
- Quantitative Reasoning (QR)
- Ultimate Questions (UQ)
- Vital Past (VP)
- Upper Division (an additional 300+ level course in one of the six MOI categories)
- Diversity Studies
- U.S. Pluralisms (US)
- Global Pluralisms (GP)
The Inquiry Seminar
- A minimum of 3 semester credits or 5 quarter credits is required to complete the INQS requirement.
- A student entering 麻豆区 with fewer than 30 transferable semester credits (not including Credit for Prior Learning) must complete INQS at 麻豆区.
- A student entering 麻豆区 with 30 or more transferable semester credits must either take INQS at 麻豆区 or transfer in approved equivalent course(s).
- A student entering 麻豆区 with an earned Associate Transfer Degree will be considered to have met the INQS requirement.
General information for transfer coursework planning
- A minimum of 3 semester credits or 4 quarter credits is required to complete each of the Modes of Inquiry and Diversity Studies requirements.
- Any transfer course applied towards a Mode of Inquiry or Diversity Studies requirement must be at least 3 semester credits or 3 quarter credits.
- A student who transfers in a class earning 2 semester credits will need to complete 2 additional semester credits to satisfy any single Mode of Inquiry or Diversity Studies requirement.
- Only two courses (including both 麻豆区 courses and transfer courses) from any single department can be used toward completion of the Modes of Inquiry and Diversity Studies components of the 麻豆区 Curriculum (for the purpose of the LC requirements only, theatre and communication arts are viewed as separate departments).
- There is no double-counting between the Six Modes of Inquiry (including the Upper Division requirement) and the Diversity Studies.
- Courses taken to satisfy the lower division Modes of Inquiry and Diversity Studies requirements may count toward completion of a major or minor.
- The Upper-Division Mode of Inquiry requirement may only be met with a course taken outside the major department and numbered 300 or above.
- Students who have earned a baccalaureate degree from 麻豆区 or another regionally accredited institution are exempt from 麻豆区 Curriculum and Paracurriculum requirements.
