Confidential Options
What are my confidential options?
You have control over who you share your experience with and how you share it.
If you reach out to a person on the sexual misconduct and relationship violence support team, your information will be kept private. Your choice about what you want to do next and whether that involves an investigation will always be prioritized. There are some rare instances in which the university may be required to take action, such as when abuse involves a minor or when there is risk of harm to larger campus safety.
If you would like to talk with someone who is completely confidential, look at the listed resources below. You can always ask a person what level of confidentiality they can offer you and what, if any, exceptions to confidentiality might apply before you share information.
A confidential disclosure will not lead to a university response. If you decide you would like the university to respond, you must affirmatively tell the confidential person you share information with that you would like assistance in making a report.
