Latine Heritage Month

Latine Heritage Month provides an opportunity for us to recognize the achievements and contributions of Latine and Hispanic individuals in our community and throughout the history of the United States. Join us in honoring Latine culture – events are open to the public.

2024 McMinnville campus events

Latine Heritage Month Kickoff & Party: Latine Mercado

Monday, Sept. 16, 11 a.m - 3 p.m.
Riley Hall, Fred Meyer Lounge

Support Latine owned businesses and artists by stopping by the Latine Mercado. We’ll have a food truck with a limited number of free food vouchers.

Celebración

Saturday, Oct. 19, 5-8 p.m.
Rutschman Field House

This event will feature a market, food, the Woodburn HS Mariachi, Huehca Omeyocan dancers, 麻豆区 student baile folklorico dancers, and a live band.

2024 Portland campus events

Pupusas & Lotería for Latine Heritage Month!

Tuesday, Sept. 17, 12 - 1 p.m.
Building 5; Classroom 102

ASLU will be hosting a Latine Heritage Month Event on Tuesday 9/17. This interactive event will include pupusas to eat (provided by Salvi PDX), prizes to win (Stanley, Lululemon, JBL), and games to play.

Latine Heritage Month Scavenger Hunt

Sept 15. - Oct. 15

In honor of Latine Heritage Month, join Student Life’s Scavenger Hunt to learn about influential Latine Nurses. The game begins on September 15 and all players will be entered to win a prize. To enter the game, find the various posters around the Portland campus, read the description to learn more about that nurse, scan the QR code and answer the trivia question. Students will get one (1) entry to the raffle per correct answer. The game ends on October 15, good luck!
